Soon thereafter, in association with Helga Davis, he presented Requiem for: A Tuesday, a performance at the National Sawdust in Brooklyn which combined music and choreography around the theme of mobilisation against racial discrimination and police brutality. He also sang in the world premiere production of John Adams’ Girls of the Golden West at the San Francisco Opera. He has performed numerous contemporary works, including John Adams’ El Niño under the baton of the composer in London and Paris, Kaija Saariaho’s True Fire with the Orchestre National de France, and Only the Sound Remains in Helsinki and Amsterdam. However, it is the contemporary repertoire for which he feels a particular affinity. He sang in La Bohème at the Royal Opera House in Oman, then in La Fanciulla del West and Otello under the baton of Lorin Maazel, and in Oedipus Rex (Tirésias / Créon) at the Teatro National de São Carlos in Lisbon.
Adams's opera will likely be broadcast in one of the next few months. A graduate of Harvard University and the Juilliard School, Davóne Tines perfected his skills at the Tanglewood Music Center. KDFC broadcasts a recording of a San Francisco Opera performance on the first Sunday of every month at 8:00pm Pacific Time.
